Those who can, teach.

I am an award winning educator who believes in the transformational power of the classroom community. Together with my students, we co-create our learning community and that’s where the magic happens! I encourage students to take risks and try out new skills. The goal is never perfection, certainly not when trying out new skills for the first time! Rather, try new skills and see what happens, and then use that experience as a catalyst for growth.

I like to say that I’m not training a group of Chanas - one of me is enough. Instead, I am holding space for students to discover and explore their own social work identities, unique to them and their lived experiences. Each student understands the work in their own way and our classroom community helps them soar!

Now teaching my 32nd MSW course in just over 6 years, I regularly receive outstanding peer reviews of my teaching and outstanding student evaluations.
